Demand & Supply Planner

Position

The Demand and Supply Planner’s challenge is to balance the conflicting objectives of customer service levels (fill rates), production efficiency and inventory level costs in order to minimize the total costs involved and to maximize customer service.

The demand and supply planner is the key person in the chain of activities from the planning of the demand by initiating a forecast process to the evaluation of the fill rates as indicator of the supply performance towards Emhart’s customers.

In the S&OP (sales and operations planning) process, which is the basis for the general planning process, is the demand and supply planner responsible for the development of the sales forecast and the translation of this forecast in the right inventory parameters and demand planning for their own manufacturing sites as well as their 3rd party suppliers whilst minimizing working capital and maximizing customer fill rates.

The demand and supply planner is a central point in the communication process between the sales and marketing / product management and the manufacturing planning departments (either own factories or 3rd party suppliers).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Runs the S&OP Demand Meeting. Ensure the operational, financial, and sales forecast are in alignment. Ensures complete resolution of all issues in timely manner;
• Demand planning , work closely with existing Sales & Operations processes to develop a rolling 6 month demand forecast at the SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) level;
• Supply management – communicate demand forecasts and rationale behind them throughout the supply chain; ensure inventory availability and resolve exceptions;
• Escalation point for tactical material delivery issues – serve as the escalation point to determine what actions to take with Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Logistics groups when material is not supplied according to the company’s and customer’s needs;
• Work closely with product/project teams to support new product introductions, changes and end of life strategies to minimize cost and maximize customer satisfaction;
• Manage demand pull supply strategies to regional distribution points to account for changes in demand and to allow for optimized, manufacturing and supply delivery;
• Communicate KPI’s to the business on regular basis – Fill Rate, Forecast Accuracy, Days Sales Inventory;
• Continuous operations process improvement – initiate and execute critical process improvements that will allow Emhart to scale in support.

Profile

• Bachelor’s intellectual level, education preferably in Logistics or Supply Chain Management;
• 3-5 years experience in Demand & Supply Planning;
• Experience in utilizing an ERP system, preferably Infor;
• Experience in utilizing a Demand Planning module;
• Strong written/verbal communications skills in Dutch & English, German is desirable;
• Hands-on and result driven team player;
• Proactive attitude and display good problems solving skills. You are service minded and take initiative;
• Willing to travel once or twice a month;
• Willing to extend your knowledge in the area of Demand and Supply Planning by additional study/courses.
