Ervaring
De 2007 until today I am responsible for purchases and logistics from Brazil and sales to the UK and Holland.
Clients are mostly distributors, processors and wholesalers. Suppliers are, in Brazilian terms, medium sized slaughterhouses.
20052006 PurchaseManager I worked as Purchase Manager responsible for all purchased goods related to meal components (approx. EUR 15 mln/year), with focus on added value products like prepared meat, poultry and fish product. Most products are especially developed by and for Marfo with local suppliers as well as foreign. I managed a 4 FTE purchase department and took a leading role in a culture change of the company.
2003-2005: I worked as Trader in charge of the UK and Ireland market. Selling to major chicken producers, food manufacturers and large distributors. The UK is considered the most important market for Seara Food Europe, the European sales office of Seara Alimentos Brasil. I was responsable for around EUR 5 mln monthly turnover of over 1.500 Metric Tons of chicken products. Primary tasks were:
- Maintaining relationship with existing customers and controlling deliveries.
- Develop new business and gathering market information
- Accompanying customer technical and commercial visits to factories in Brazil
- Coordinating development of cooked and raw chicken products and packagings.
- Making Sales plans and targets
- Participating in International Food Fairs
2002-2003 Worked as Trader Pork and Poultry. Selling poultry meat to mainly Dutch and Belgian manufacturers and wholesalers. Purchasing from mainly slaughterhouses and traders in Portugal, Spain, Belgium and Denmark for exports to East-Europe.
2000 - 2001 technical director
Worked as technical director to build and manage an enterprise of a private investor that wanted to commercialise the cattle of his farm in a more profitable manner.
Novilho Nobre is a high quality production facility with an own sales unit of high international standards in an elite neighbourhood of the city Curitiba. All the products from this plant are packed in consumer-packing and labelled with retail-prices. The plant produces around 110 added value products, like; traditional, special, stuffed, seasoned and marinated beef, pork, poultry, lamb and game cuts.
´99 - 2000 I set up this consultant agency to attend the Brazilian meat retail and industry with product development, trainings and yield improvement. Worked for chicken slaughterhouse “Nicolini” in the city Garibaldi in the state Rio Grande do Sul, to develop a line of seasoned chicken products and cold cuts.
As a consultant wrote various articles in the National Meat Magazine and The Butcher and Industry Magazine.
´98 - ´99: . Worked at the Research and Development Department as a consultant to improve the yield in the industry and to develop new products. Helped to improve the yield with R$ 2 million without any major investments and developed around 50 new products.
´97 - ´98: Manager/Consultant Worked as Manager/Consultant to initiate a new fresh meat production plant.
Implemented the “Modified Atmosphere Packing” for the Makro´s “Fresh Pack” brand.
First responsibilities were to train the local people to process meat in a profitable way and to manage the production plant. Helped to rebuild the plant with an investment of US$ 500.000. The factory had sales of US$ 2.500.000 and is the first of it’s kind in Southeast Asia.
´95 - ´97; First year worked at Quality Control and Logistics to implement a traceability system.
Second year worked as production Supervisor to restructure the department and to improve internal logistics and quality assurance.
´93 - ´94;
Realised his graduation work at meat processing factory “Giebels, Vlees en Vleeswaren” in Helmond, Holland and at catering company “Maison van den Boer” in Veghel, Holland.
Gained international experiences in several Butcher shops of the Q-Guild in London, England
