• Directly responsible for strategic supplier selection and vendor management for landing fees, aircraft and passengers’ handling fees, passengers’ taxes, catering, jet fuel and in-flight sales.
• Final responsibility for contract negotiations with airport authorities and governments.
• Shared responsibility for the founding of BASIQ-Air, which included the conceptual and the operational phase.
• Extensively involved in the major outsourcing project of all passenger and aircraft handling activities. Contract value +/- 25 million Euros.
• Reorganized the procurement department, this resulted in a reduction of 2 fte's.

01/99 - 06/00 Director Component Purchasing and Services.
• Japanese manufacturer of connectors and wire harnesses for the automotive industry.Responsible for the European Supply Chain for all components required for the production of wire harnesses (electrical distribution system for cars).
• Purchase budget of 400 million Euros per year.
• Directing a staff of 53 people located in factories, in Portugal, Spain, Slovakia, Turkey and the majority in Belgium.
• Direct responsibility for the departments: Procurement, Planning, Quality (QS9000), Transportation and Warehousing, Inter-company Finance and outsourced production.
• Substantial change management on a standardisation program for Plastics. Reduced raw materials from 15 types to 2 types. This resulted in a cost reduction of 10 million Euros.
• Final responsibility for the consolidation of all logistic suppliers. This resulted in the selection of one European provider and the closing of two warehouses in Spain and England. Total cost reduction 7 million Euros.
• Project leader for a successful implementation on a new MRP system.
• Member of the management team and extensively involved with the management of the company on a strategic level.

• Supervising a team of 32 Buyers.
• Direct responsibility for strategic supplier selection, contract negotiations and risk management on requirement of engineering en product management.
• Directly involved with make or buy decisions and responsible for outsourced production.
• Associate initiator and organizer of several global engineering conferences with the subject: the global standardization of plastics. This resulted in a reduction of 25 different types to 7 types. Total cost reduction established with this project: 7 million Euros.
Significant change management on all low value procurement activities. The low value activities were outsourced.
• Extensively involved with the management of the company on a strategic level, member of the management team and direct report to the CEO on the progress of cost reductions.

Successfully outsourced all low value procurement activities.
