Defining and implementing purchasing strategies for key raw materials with a spend of approximately € 150 million, representing 700 raw materials and 600 suppliers. Improving purchasing effectiveness by measuring performance against targets and improving efficiency through workflow optimization.

2003 – 2006 Purchasing Manager
Company holding many leading positions in chemicals.
Strategic global sourcing of main raw materials with a spend of € 100 million, including the definition and implementation of purchasing strategies and contract negotiations.
- Set up low cost country sourcing by forming cross-functional teams and developing suppliers reducing one third of the costs.
- 30% costs reduction in industrial gasses; leveraging spend, obtaining company-wide buy-in, negotiating on behalf of all Dutch entities.
- Risk reductions/contingency plans, cost reduction through TCO analysis, open book negotiations, target pricing, e-auction, SLA’s.

2000 – 2003 Key Account Manager.
Supplier of aseptic carton packaging solutions.
Responsible for overall results of Campina and Nutricia, reporting to Sales Director. Annual sales over 200 million packs, i.e. € 30 - 50 million. Capital investments per account € 1 – 2 million. Built strong relationships with key accounts, became sparing partner for Marketing Departments discussing several NPD projects and new marketing concepts.
- Organized ground-breaking company wide marketing seminar for Campina and for Nutricia high level VIP trips to HQ Sweden.
- Coordinated consumer research.
- Managed account team consisting of Sales Support, Quality Assurance, Finance and Technical Service, functional reporting lines. Category Expert Nutritionals: Created a Business Plan for the nutritional beverage market segment and marketed ready-to-market concepts, which were developed together with Döhler, CPKelco, Givaudan and Roche.

1998 – 2000 Consultant (Pre-Sales)
Multinational, develops and implements component-based business software.
Engaged in the start-up of IFS Benelux, within three years the company grew from three to fifty employees.
- Presented sales demonstrations to key decision makers.
- Convinced prospects to work with IFS by creatively translating their requirements into clear and simple solutions.
- Analyzed business processes, implemented distribution and manufacturing solutions, identified improvements and trained key-users.

1997 – 1998 Management Consultant. Food company.
Optimizing factory operations around the globe, based Proudfoot methodologies. General objective was a 5% reduction of a factory’s tangible costs and implementation of 50% within six months.
- Project, The plant produces deep frozen foods (annual turnover +/- U$D 120 million). Implemented a planning tool to optimize labor utilization.
- Project, U.S.A. The plant produces canned foods (annual turnover +/- U$D 100 million). Implemented a net weight control system (reduced overfilling), trained factory personnel, optimized inventory control.
- Project, The plant produces fresh food products (annual turnover U$D 100 million). Increased labor efficiency by implemented improved working routines, reduced packaging costs, reduced night shift sanitation costs.
