Since 1913 a manufacturer of big power transformers with a workforce of 350 . Together with a German transformer manufacturer, the company is owned by a German investors group. The products are sold world wide.
Senior Buyer, reporting to the chief purchasing and logistics.
- Responsible for the establishing and execution of product strategies.
- Responsible for Supplier management within certain product groups.
- Draw up contracts with suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Supplier selection on an international purchasing market.
- Giving guidance to operational buyers.
- Establishment and execution of sourcing-projects.
The company is a project oriented organization. It concerns special products. In most cases the engineering, production and delivery is done in close co-operation with the customer. In a number of cases purchasing has to take into account special regulations and customer wishes.
1984 – 1998 Purchasing manager
An European market driven computer manufacturer, founded in 1979. The company was specialised in the disign, engineering, production, sales and service of personal-computers. The staffing was approximately 450 people. In 1998, after a Chapter 11 situation, the company moved to Amersfoort. They are now mainly concentrating on the sales and marketing of notebooks.
Purchasing-manager, reporting to the board of directors.
- Responsible for the purchasing department with 5 Senior Buyers.
- Lay down of the purchasing strategy, responsible for the purchase of electronic parts, electrical and mechanical components.
- Responsible for the purchasing budget.
- Responsible for human resources policy within the purchasing deparment.
In 1984 the company expanded very fast. It was my duty to professionalise the purchasing organisation, to set up purchasing procedures, to implement administrative procedures and to establish and execute sourcing-projects as well as IT projects.
1980 – 1984 Buyer
The company was specialised in the disign, engineering and sales of nucleair medical equipment.It was decided in 1984 to move the production of this equipment from The Netherlands to Germany, to the head office.

- Reponsible for the purchase op raw materials, parts, tools and electronic components for the production department and the service department.
- Giving guidance to an junior buyer.
- Making contracts with suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Selection of suppliers on an international purchasing market.
1972 – 1980 Technical administrator, Junior Buyer
The well known department-store with their own service department for both white goods as for brown goods which where sold under their own brand names.
Junior Buyer, reporting to the buyer.
- Purchase of tools, parts and service equipments for the different technical service departments.
- Compilation of service catalogues with service parts assortments, including price-lists.
- Translation of user ad service manuals.
Technical administrator / costing-clerk.
- Calculation of modifications on home-istallations (electricity/water).
- Planning service engineers.
