2005 - current Purchasing Leader - Central Purchasing Department
- Formulate Purchasing policies and co-ordinate the purchasing activities of the Central Purchasing Dept. (8 persons) within the Heijmans Infrastructure organisation with a value of 600 million euro.
- Managing relationships with the supplier, auditing, problem solving, co-ordinating and communicating the supplier's performance, setting up performance indicators to ensure better achievement.
- Operating autonomously in negotiating and contracting for Quality, Logistics and Purchasing in relation to business requirements.
- Develop and implement essential procedures and improvement plans, assure proper implementation of supplier contracts and documents cost savings proposals.
- Initiate improvement initiatives and coordinate the implementation (internally and externally).

2001 – 2005 Purchasing Group Leader / Initial Buyer Electr(on)ic Materials
- Source and co-ordinate the purchasing of the Electr(on)ic Materials with a value between 7 and 12 million euro with 6 persons.
- Continuous research and investigation in the international purchasing market, positioning suppliers and setting up strategies to maximise the supplier base to ensure the integral costs are kept to a minimum.
- Responsible for operational relations with relevant suppliers according to criteria set in performance measurement and improvement plans and to administer ongoing supplier management programs.
- Initiate improvement initiatives and coordinate the implementation as an active member of the BEST (Business Excellence through Speed and Teamwork) implementation Group (for Purchasing).
- In cooperation with other departments, lead efforts in providing purchasing solutions for internal and external customer’s requirements.
Note: Within the re-organisation plans of the company, this position will been officially terminated in 2005.

In 1990 I moved to The Netherlands where I had to wait until 1994 to obtain a working permit. During this period, I performed several jobs unofficially in horticulture and gardening.
